Kampala International University

 



Established in 2001, Kampala International University is a private, not-for-profit university in Uganda. The institution was granted chattered status in 2009. It offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The university is one of the few in Uganda offering courses in computer science, education, and law. In 2009, the University was accredited by the Commission on Higher Education. Today, the Kampala International is one of the most prestigious universities in Uganda.

The University is an international institution and is privately owned. Its main campus is located in Kampala and has branch campuses in the country's capital city, Dar es Salaam. The institution offers certificate, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs in various disciplines. The university has branches in Tanzania and Kenya. The institution offers pre-bachelor and bachelor degree programs and is currently developing a third campus in Nairobi, Kenya. The school maintains a campus in Kampala and offers degrees in a variety of fields.

The university has three campuses and over 7,000 students. The main campus is in Kampala, which is about 3 km from the shores of Lake Victoria. The campus in Ishaka, Bushenyi district, is located in western Uganda. Branches also exist in Kenya. The school of health sciences at KIU is the first private medical school in Uganda. The institution offers programmes in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and allied health sciences. Its teaching hospital has a capacity of 1,200 beds.

There are three campuses of Kampala International University. The eastern campus is the largest and has the most students. The western campus houses the school of health sciences, one of the seven medical schools in Uganda. The university is the first privately owned medical school in the country, and has several branches in Kenya. It offers various medical programs, including a post-graduate program in pharmacology. Its main campus also has a teaching hospital, with over a thousand beds.

In addition to a main campus, KIU has a satellite campus in Dar es Salaam. The university is primarily a science-based institution. The distance from the main campus to the Ishaka campus can be measured using Google maps. Getting there by car is easy, and the distance between the two campuses is only a few kilometers. Unlike other universities in Uganda, KIU is a long way from anywhere. The road from Dar es Salaam is about five hours from the capital.

The KIU Main Campus is in Kampala. The university also maintains a constituent college in Dar es Salaam. Its undergraduate and postgraduate programs are science-based, which makes it a great choice for people with a hectic schedule. In fact, it is the only university in Uganda with this kind of campus structure. Despite the location, KIU is still one of the best-funded universities in the country.
