How to Make Your Company LGBTQ FRIENDLY

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation publishes an annual Corporate Equality Index that rates companies based on their LGBT equality policies. In 2018, 767 companies were rated 100%, up from just three percent in 2002. The survey also found that gender identity is now part of nondiscrimination policies at 94% of Fortune 500 companies. Many of these companies also have jobs posted on Monster.com. You can easily find a doctor that is LGBTQ FRIENDLY by checking out their listing.

For the most inclusive, gay-friendly destinations, New Orleans is a great place to visit. The French Quarter's Lavender Line is lined with gay-friendly bars. There are many places to see and experience in New Orleans, such as Cafe Lafitte's In Exile, Lucille's Golden Lantern, and The Oz. Portland, Oregon, is another great city with an excellent LGBT community. This progressive city is full of gay bars, pride events, and LGBTQ-owned businesses.

A city that is LGBT-friendly will offer a welcoming environment to people of all sex. While a city may be considered gay-friendly in theory, a city that has never been ranked as a "gay capital" has struggled for that designation. In reality, however, a city's LGBTQ-friendliness is determined by the number of people who are attracted to it, and not by its location or reputation.

Some cities in Missouri and North Dakota are more welcoming than others. While Kansas City won the previous competition, Columbia is the quintessential college town. It is the only state in the nation with slightly more protective anti-discrimination laws than Kansas City. And both Columbia and Kansas City have a high-profile LGBTQ+ political scene. For instance, the LGBTQ-friendly cities of Bozeman and Helena are both home to large gay community groups and are LGBTQ-friendly.

Pride month is an easy way to promote the diversity of employees at your workplace. You can post messages about the diversity in your company on social media or advertise LGBTQ events in your city. In addition to celebrating LGBTQ pride, it will also celebrate your company's diversity and equality. So, this month, take advantage of Pride month to make your workplace more inclusive! The first step is to listen to your employees, listen to their needs, and provide an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and safe.

To help you build a welcoming practice, you can use resources such as the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association and National LGBT Health Education Center. They have webinars and other resources that you can access. A guide for healthcare professionals includes tips on how to talk to LGBT patients while maintaining a nonjudgmental attitude and avoiding unnecessary questions. There is also a resource library of cultural competency webinars you can attend to increase your knowledge of how to deal with these patients.

In addition to fostering an environment where everyone can be comfortable and feel accepted, it is also important to understand and respect the unique needs of LGBTQ youth. Youth who identify as LGBTQ face increased adversity in their daily lives. While some might think that families and schools are safe spaces for youth, the reality is much different. LGBTQ youth face increased levels of family rejection, abuse, and violence in their home environments, and many leave state care without adequate support.
